Born William Henry Gates III on October 28, 1955 in Seattle, Washington to parents, William Henry gates, Sr. and Mary Maxwell. He grew up in an upper middle class home along with two other siblings and attended Seattle's prestigious private school, Lakeside School for the majority of his education. Throughout most of his childhood, Gates excelled in board games, spent hefty amounts of time reading reference books, and was outstanding in math and science. Gates also had a fascination with technology, particularly for computer programming since the age of 13. Focusing mainly on academics and his passion for computers, he spent the majority of his time in the computer lab at Lakeside School. Gates was one of the most outstanding students, and recieved a 1590 on the SAT out of a perfect score of 1600.
