Microsoft's Beginning
I n 1973, he graduated and was accepted in to Harvard University the following fall semester. Gate's parents wished for him to continue at
Harvard to become a lawyer, but decided to join his close friend, Paul Allen, and work at Honeywell in 1974. |
Together, they worked to create a computer software that they hoped would work on a pre-existing Altair 8800 mini-computer kit built from an Albuquerque based company. Once they found thier invention to be successful, they both created a partnership that they named "Micro-soft," which was a combination between the words "micro-computer" and "software."
